August Newsletter – Grass-fed Dairy, New Farmer Mixer & Scholarship Opportunities

Hello New England Grazing Network Community,

Please find the August 2023 Newsletter attached.

This month, August pasture walks and on-farm workshops continue, and more upcoming fall workshops and conferences hit the calendar. Additionally, we are sharing a good read from Dairy Grazing Apprentice Kate Sabino, where she reflects on management changes within Wolfe’s Neck Center’s grazing-based New England Dairy. Don’t forget to check out the additional scholarship opportunities listed below as well!

Scholarship – An Opportunity to Get on the Bus in Vermont!
National Cattleman’s Beef Association is offering a non-competitive scholarship for the 2023 National Grazing Land’s Bus Tour in Vermont. You do not have to be a beef farmer to receive it. The money is given to the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association by Cargill and is to be used to support educational opportunities for farmers. The National Bus Tour is one of the eligible events. All you have to do sign up, watch a 20 minute “module” of your choice. BUT – you need to sign up before Aug 15th to get the process started. You can sign up for this scholarship even if you have already purchased your registration.
